Happy Thanksgiving! Anyone hunting today?
« on: November 25, 2004, 08:13:40 AM »
Went out and got skunked goose hunting this morning but my buddy's son got one. It's great watching a kid get excited. He had to chase it and shoot it again almost as much fun calling and watching a kid be successful as it is shooting on for myself. Then on the way home for tradition's sake I stopped by the farm and tried to scare up a rabbit but had no luck. All the old men that had beagles that I used to hunt rabbits are gone now, but as I walked those dicth banks and kicked some brush piles they were remembered. I was just me and the 12 ga topper and I know most folks don't understand why any one would want to walk around alone in the rain but in a couple of years my now 4 year old son will be with me.
PROUD REDNECK CONSERVATIVE

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun

Happy thanksgiving to all.

I went out this morning also in the rain no squirrels were moving and I only saw one and it was way too far for a shot.  I did get into a pretty good flock of crows and killed four.  Then when I got back to the jeep a lady had hit a deer and I had to put it down.....I called DNR and you know they wouldn't let me keep it.
