Ultra 20 scores a Buck...
« on: November 25, 2004, 04:59:46 AM »
Monday morn at 8:10 AM, I turned the Moo Cow over three times and not 2 minutes later I had a Fat three point down at 75 yards... the Federal 3" Hydra-shock did its job...Flattened him like a pancake from a neck shot never kicked nor moved...No chasin' makes for a nice short drag....Now to fill a couple of Doe tags and finish fillin' the freezer...

The shot caught the spine and wind pipe ...all he did was expell a whole lot of steam...kinda like firing a ML with the puff of smoke on his end... I recovered the slug...mushroomed the front half of the hour glass... first time that's happened all the rest have been pass throughs...Sure Like my 20 gauges... Later, MTNMAN

I hear ya about the 20ga ultra slug guns. I have taken 2 deer so far this season with mine. A big doe last week and an 8 pointer just yesterday. My season is practically over for me.... I'll try later on to get another doe with bow or muzzleloader, but not in any hurry now.  :-)

Man, that does it! I've heard enough about these 20's. I need to get one and see for myself. Good job MTMMAN.

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun

Mtnman,
You aren't too far from me, what area were you hunting in?
