My new 4" S&W 629 is now sporting..................
« on: November 17, 2004, 03:40:38 PM »
A brand new set of CT laser grips, YEEEEEHAAAAA!!    With any luck I'll get to the range within the next 90 days and give the whole system a good shake'n out.  That is, I'll do so if I don't go back to working 12 hour shifts and 7 days a week, that sorta puts a crimp in a guys range time. :(   Actually, this could turn out to be my MOST favorite gun.  It carrys nicely in a Bianchi holster and I'll be making the ammo myself so it'll loaded to my comfort level.  So what's the point of this post, just do'n a little bit of bragg'n/celebrate'n, that's all.  Keep yer powder dry and don't shoot 'till he spits in yer eye!

Congratulations Dusty, glad you got one. Let us know how those grips work out?

I'm having a lot of trouble getting to the range due to all the liquid sunshine we're having here in the central valley of the PRC.  However, I can tell you that I had to take a file and work on the serrations on those grips.  They feel a lot better now.  When that big yellow thing starts showing up in the sky again I'll be able to get back out and work on getting that CT set right.

I see a lot of negative info about laser sights over at the Suarez International forum (Warriors something or the other).  Anybody here have any experience using laser sights?

I've put them on several guns and absolutely love them. Wish I had them on all of my various self defense guns. Heck if it was legal I'd use them on hunting guns but it isn't.

I've only shot a few guns that wore them, but they were pretty sweet at short range, and were a big help in working on point shooting.  I'm more of a "Flash sight picture" kinda guy, but I'll take any edge I can get in a gunfight!  As Clint Smith says, "Always cheat, always win!"

I shudda kept my big mouth shut, all my range time as of late has been devoted to my 45 ACPs and my new Vaquero.  With all the liquid sunshine we've been gettin here in N. CA. there hasn't been much range time.  Oh what a delimna, too many guns to shoot!

I got to the range yesterday and got to put a few rounds through it.  I'm finding that those grips whack the web between my thumb and trigger finger.  It'll take a while to work the bugs out.
