Stock Help
« on: November 10, 2004, 10:40:52 AM »
I just got back from the range and I noticed while cleaning my 98 that the stock is splitting. It is very small but this is on my 338/06. I am going to replace it. Any one have thoughts on the B&C Medalist vs. Hogue Overmold. Both I see have the full length alluminum bedding. Pro's / Con's . I figure it is easier and safer to spend 200 on a stock versus 20000 for face reconstruction.

Another stock to consider is a laminated wood stock. I put a Boyd's stock on my M70 30-06 and I love it. Boyd's now has a service to cut out some wood in the fore end and butt area so the stock is about 10oz lighter. You get the strength of synthetics and the warmth of wood.

Thanks dave,
Did you have to bed your stock or did you get good accuracy from the straight stock
