Tell me more about this Small Game Stew. Getting hungry for a fat squirrel just thinking about a good squirrel stew.
Squirrel Dumplin's and a big pan of fresh biscuits just don't get any better.
Cook your squirrel the way you want then make these bad boys:
.....2 Cups self-rising flour
.....1/3 Cup mayonaise (not the fat free)
.....1 Tablespoon cooking oil or olive oil
.....1 tablespoon of sugar
.....1 Cup of whole Milk
Mix all this really good in a bowl and flour up a sheet of wax paper. Beat the dough, roll and knead it til it feels just right. You'll know when.
Take a big drinking glass and dip in your flour container or bag and then use the mouth of the glass to cut out your biscuits after rolling the dough out to about 1/2" thick. Cut out all the biscuits you can and roll the dough back out again and cut out more. Spray a flat cookie sheet or pizza pan with cooking spray and place biscuits on pan. When you run out of dough and have all your biscuits on the pan and ready, give the top of each biscuit a quick shot of the cooking spray. Put in the oven at 400° for about 10-12 minutes or until they get as brown as you like. When the top of them cat-heads start getting a tan brown color, leave them for one more minute and then take them out. Not too doughy and not to hard...Just right!!...half them open and put butter on each half and sprinkle a little sugar on it too.
Man, I'm wanting some squirrel now, dang it
