Need some advice, boys!!!
« on: November 03, 2004, 05:35:31 PM »
My husband is getting his RB .454 for Christmas this year, after years and years of wanting one.  BUT...  I have no clue what size barrel to get.  What's the differences between them?

Your best bet, if you don't want him to know about it, is to ask some of his shooting friends if he has ever mentioned a preference. Or have one of them feel him out about it without letting on.   KN

Play dumb and ask him why there are so many different barrel lengths on handguns. During your conversation it should come out which one he prefers.

Great ideas!  Thanks!

One more question- what is a good price range for this gun?  I'm hoping I'll get a chance to get back home and talk to the guy we used to buy most of our guns from- he always has a good deal for us- but in case I don't and I have to shop around here I want to make sure I know what I should be paying!

Around here new ones go for $650 and up. Depends on caliber and finish to some extent.

I have a nice used one that I did a product review on and some hunting with that I have listed in my Classifieds here for $500 including the scope base just in case someone wants to scope it. Mine is the 8-3/8" SS model. If you think you might have an interest contact me via PM or e-mail and we can discuss. If you're wanting new I'd say anything under $650 would be a pretty good deal.
