17 HMR Tracker
« on: October 31, 2004, 09:56:37 AM »
Hi. I have a very nice Taurus Tracker in 17 HMR. It is an 8 3/8 barrel in a dark blue black finish. It is an excellent pistol. I have 400 rounds of hornaday 20gr xtp rounds through it with NO TROUBLE. This is the sixth revolver I have had by them. One raging bull in 44mag. Two 44mags one in 6in and one in 83/8in. Two 357 mag both stainless with 83/8 barrels. Also forgot about one 22 model 94 I think it was? Now this beutiful pistol in 17 HMR. It shoots fantastic. I have a T/C 2x7 pistol scope on it. I shoot under 1.5 inch seven shot groups at 100 yards. It is very stable and the group never wanders. I have had no trouble with any of my Taurus pistols. I was a little worried about this new Tracker 17 HMR I picked up last week after reading all the stories I have been reading here. But I am GLAD I DID. It is sooo sweet!!!  Several of the pistols I have had from Taurus did not meet my accuracy expectations so they have been traded off. I have since gone to S&W 629 classic and 686 pistols because they are much lighter and shoot very very accuratly without the HEAVY weight of the Taurus pistols. But I would have been very happy to keep any of the Taurus pistols I have had if I could not afford anything else. This is just my honest experience with these pistols. Take it for what it is worth. But I wont be scared off after my positive experience. Do any of you out there shoot that 17HMR in a tracker?????  The FUN FACTOR on my new 17HMR tracker in 8 3/8 barrel is just outstanding!!!

I have a six inchv tracker in 17 HMR.  The Hornady load runs over the chrono at about 1950 fps at 6 feet from the muzzle.
