Some time back I acquired a 12 gauge all brass shotgun shell in 12 gauge loaded with "0" buck. The gent from whom I got it told me a story about during WWII the then used paper shotgun shells used in the Pacific theatre of operations were swelling up from the high humidity of the south sea islands so Remington made some of the all brass ones. The one I have has never been fired and is,of course, a Remington/UMC.
I just thought it was neat at the time because my grandfather had some all brass shells many years back and had made some salt and pepper shakers from some of them.
I realize that this is probably a collector type item and since I do not collect old cartridges I am thinking of selling it.Can anyone give me an approximate idea of it's worth and perhaps some more history concerning these? Thanks.
