Tulsa Gun Show
« on: October 28, 2004, 04:11:33 AM »
Went to the BIG Wanenmacher Tulsa Gun Show last weekend.  Had about five tables of stuff but only one table to put it on.  Tables were $90 each and that with three nights in a motel, fuel, food etc., makes an expensive trip.  With what I sold, I probably broke even or perhaps made a few bucks.  A couple of the firms listed in our suppliers guide, were present with their wares.  One was Kansas Cannons and I just had to buy one of the Winchester blank salute cannons from them.  It's the Naval model with a brass barrel and black iron carriage and it fires the 10 gauge blank.  I've always wanted one and the opportunity came about so I jumped at it.  The owner, Bill Peak is a nice guy and we had a pleasant "cannon" chat.  The other vendor was Wild Imports with all their brass cannon and mortars plus large round ball moulds and a lot of other cannon/mortar related stuff.  Apparently there was a large attendance by blackpowder cannon/mortar shooters since they sold a lot of their stuff.  I was very interested in one of their largest mortars but the little Winchester cannon kinda won over since it was a lot easier to haul around and cost about half the price of the mortar and weighed about 1/10 as much as the big mortar.  It was a good show and well worth the trip.  Next one is in April and I will be back at the same table location, if the old creek doesn't rise too high.  If you have never attended this particular Gun Show, you should make a strong effort to do so, while the Gun Shows are still available to attend.  And remember to flush the John's on Election Day!!!  Blaster (Bob in CO)
