Loads for 25-06
« on: October 26, 2004, 11:57:49 AM »
I'm in the process of doing load development for my 26" barrel Encore. A couple loads are showing good promise. I'm just curious if anyone has any pet loads for their 25-06. I'm interested in bullet(weight and type), powder and charge and OAL of loaded round. So far it looks like a max charge of H4831 powder, and Hornady 100gr. Interlocks SP is off to the best start. I still have to play with OAL and fine tuning of the charge weight. I'm very interested in what is working for everyone else that handloads for the Encore. I almost forgot to mention, this load will be used for Whitetails.  Thanks for any and all info and advice.

Im using a slightly less than full charge of IMR4831 with a Sierra 100gr SBT. Shoots 3/8" 100meter groups consistently from a Savage 110 tactical.   KN

I am using RL22 with a 100 gr. Ballistic Tip bullet.  I have shot deer and my wife uses this rifle for her antelope.  They usually drop in their tracks.  My rifle does not like anything over 100 grs.  I do not have my load data here but I remember it does somewhere around 3300 fps. and shoots into 1/2" from my highly modified Remington 700.  The load is from the Nosler book.

I had a load worked up, 38 g's of Varget with a 100 grain Sierra Gameking.  At 100 yards .75 MOA.  This was out of my Encore 26" 2506 barrel.

My gun seem to like 54gr of RL22 behind a 100gr Nosler Partition, with a standared winchester primer. 3/4 inch groups at 100yds,... Not bad for the Partition
