« on: October 21, 2004, 05:27:23 AM »
Just Purchased a new LITE T3, 7mm-08, will mount a Trijicon TR20 scope for Wisconsin Whitetail. I hope that "some" of the comments pertaining to this rifle are correct.

Glad to see Nossler is expanding.

 GREAT BOARD & THANKYOU GRAYBEARD!

IMO, the 7-08 is the optimum fast handling lightweight caliber. Good Choice!  I can only say that what I've read about the Tikkas are that they are fine firearms.

If you hand load, try the sierra 140 grain pro hunters.  They shoot good in my 7-08.  If you shoot factory, look for some premium ammo that loads the sierra bullets.  I have had good performance on deer with them.

Sir, take that lazer out to the range and shoot it at 50 and 100.  Next Pull it up quick and get you field of view.  Now after this tell us you haven't got one of the better firearms in your hands!!  I guess it goes without saying I think you made a great decision!  I have a T3 6.5-55 and a Whitetail Hunter in a 308.  I won't say Tikka is the best gun but it sure is one of the best!  Buckfever

tikka 270wsm
« Reply #8 on: October 23, 2004, 01:02:00 PM »
recieved my Tikka 2 weeks ago.  No local dealers could get me this gun, had to travel to Erie Pa to Gander Mountain to pick it up. Bought the 270wsm and shot it for the first time today. Imounted my Leuopld 3*9*50 on it. When they say 1 inch groups, believe it. I shot 3 shells at 100 yards to see where i was at, 4 in. left 2 in high. I adjusted and cleaned my barrel, shot  3 more 1 in high dead center. I cleaned again and shot 3 more 1in high and just off center, all grouos were 1inch or less. I using the new Federal 140 grain accubonds awesome. Some of the readers were worried about recoil because this gun is so lite, didnt really notice it.After shooting a Remington 3.5 inch shotgun for turkey hunting, nothing else comes close for recoil. My tikkas trigger was set at 3lbs. This gun is all the readers said it would be, i would recommend a Tikka to anyone. THANK YOU to all you Tikka OWNERS.

Good luck with your Tikka, these light rifles will shoot!  My Hunter in .308 shoots sub moa with factory hunting ammo and even better with Federal Gold Medal Match.  A rifle this good deserves to be broken in and cleaned right so if you want the most out of it get yourself a one piece, coated Dewey rod and a bore guide from Sinclairs and have at it!

Nothing like out shooting big heavy custom heavy barreled rigs costing 3x + as much.  I have a few of those too so I can say that!

Good hunting!

Be safe,

Billy

Tikka 6.5-55 and 4+4
« Reply #11 on: November 26, 2004, 04:11:02 AM »
Got a nice 4+4 with a 140gr. Nosler Partition at 125 yds quartering away.  He folded like he was hit by lighting.  This gun really fits me and is deadly accurate.  By the way the action is so smooth that I can't put a single cartridge in with nose of the gun down or the bolt slides shut!  How about that for smooth!   Hey I am sure many of you guys have other brands of firearms you like as much as I like my Tikkas.  They just seem to be the ticket for me and I respect your choices and the reasons you have made them whatever brand the firearm is.  Hell I was all Remington until I found these Tikkas.  Who knows what else I don't know about.  Buckfever

I just found a Tikka T3 Lite SS 25-06 at a local gun shop.  It's used, but only one year old.  A doctor had bought it for his son, but traded it in to get a gun with a youth stock.  I think its a bargain at $400, but .........

Be Right Back, gotta go write a check.

I own several Tikkas, and a few 7mm-08s.  I don't know which I like better, Tikkas or the 7mm-08, so I bought one that has both - A NIB Tikka WH SS in 7mm-08! :-D

The only thing that I don't like about the T3s is their "one size fits all" action.  Other than that, they are awesome.  The WH SS is a bit heavier than the T3 SS, but weight is no that big of an issue for me.  Actually, I generally like to have some weight because it helps be shoot better and also tame recoil a bit better too.

Still, the T3 is an excellent rifle, and the 7mm-08 is my favorite cartridge - especially for whitetail deer.

Hello everyone! I have'nt posted anything in quite awhile & thought I'd get back into the swim. I have yet to find anyone saying anything negative about Tikka rifles. I have owned a M695lh in .338winmag for 6 years and it has accounted for three moose so far. I use 230 gr win. failsafes and those guys never went more than 30 yards [all one shot kills]. This year I got a 1200 pounder wearing a 50in rack in October. All the guys I hunt with and shoot with cannot touch this rifle for accuracy! I shoot sub MOA groups regularly with it. I would not hesitate to pick up another Tikka should the "need" arise.I have mine ported and would recommend that to be done also-she shoots "civilized!!" :D

I have one a T3 stainless in .30-06 with a weaver grand slam on it. I love it, it has been everything Zachary and all of the other satisfied Tikka owners told it would be and more. This the first hunting season it has seen and already has taken 3 deer. Very accurate, light weight, good looks, points great, SMMMMOOOOOOTTTHHHH action I could go on but I think I have  gotten my point across. I did a Win. 1300 Sims. pad to mine fits great and works great.
congratulations Seedsandtrees you will be yet another proud Tikka owner.

Can someone re-state the recoil pad information?  I remember seeing it, but it was before I bought my tikka, so I didn't really pay any attention.

Thanks
