Scope for Raging Bull
« on: October 19, 2004, 06:13:49 PM »
Can the Raging Bull be fitted with a scope?  Just bought one today, in .454 but got no papers or manual with it.  Was wondering if a scope could be placed on this gun.  If so how do the rings mount?

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Yes. Both Taurus and B-Square make clamp on bases. The both work pretty much the same. The B-Square I think is the one requires you to remove the rear sight and use the dove tail there to hold the rear of it in place. The Taurus doesn't.

In both cases you set it on top of barrel. Fit a thin metal plate both above and below the solid portion of vent rib and use a screw thru them. Tighten it and it clamps the base in place.

The B-Square is pretty soft and got banged up pretty badly in use on my RBs. The metal the holding clamps are made of is really soft and bends so it doesn't clamp very well. The Taurus base clamps quite solidly and doesn't require removal of rear sight.

If you really want a solid mount and don't mind it tho having it drilled and tapped and using screws thru the base into the rib is the way to go. That's a solid as it gets but will reduce resell later if you decide to let it go.

I've got a 2-8 Leupold with 3 Burris Signature rings on a Taurus mount.
