Who was out pheasant hunting this weekend?
« on: October 19, 2004, 03:06:55 AM »
Just wondering how everyone did that hunted last weekend.  I know some states don't open until this weekend, but I thought I'd start a little converstaion.  I unfortunately was working down here in Iowa instead of hunting with dad in South Dakota, amazing what a job, pregnant wife, and 17 month old daughter does to your schedule!  (I still wouldn't trade it for anything, I'll get to reap my rewards when the kids are old enough to hunt WITH me, and maybe convince mom to come along!)  Dad went out Saturday and Sunday in central SD, our traditional opening weekend hunt on private land with friends, all wild birds, no fees involved.  There were 11 in the party Saturday and the limited out their 33 birds by 2:45, started at noon.  Sunday was 15 guys, finished by 5:30.  Good luck to everyone headed out, I have private saxophone students auditioning for Iowa All-State Band on Saturday, so I won't be hunting here in Iowa either.
