I don't think you will go wrong with a Kimber rifle. My personal experience is with a model 84 in .308. It is very accurate and well made. Others, that I know, that have Kimbers report the same with their rifles. When I removed the action from the stock for an initial cleaning and lubeing I found it both glass and piller bedded. It was the neatest bedding job that I have ever seen on a factory rifle.
Take another look at it. You might like it.
