Had a Relapse.....
« on: October 16, 2004, 08:53:04 AM »
The sickness continues :roll: , thought I was over the NEF malady of always needing another single shot rifle.....but I was wrong! I always check out the guns and ammo at the local BiMart store just to see if anything I need/want is on sale, today I suffered a weak moment when I spotted a new rifle in their rack...a Handi in .204 Ruger! What a surprize knowing they don't exist is any great quauntity yet. It followed my smiling face all the way home. Now for ammo....they had none! Looks like I'll be shopping online for ammo or even possibly do a little more handloading....sick...sick...sick... :-D

The Hornady 32gr Vmax are available everywhere I looked except Midway.  Cabela's, Midsouth and Natchez had em but the 40gr are out of stock everywhere. Best price for the 32gr and 40gr was at Midsouth @$12 a box.

I have had some stores trying to sell for $17.00 a box. The last time I checked Midsouth they where out and I had got the last the local Bass Pro had but that was a couple of weeks ago. I have noticed Remington showing up but I have had good luck with the 40 gr. Hornady. It is a fun little round. Probably will start reloading for it when deer season is over. :-D

:D , Hi, my name is MSP Ret and I'm a Handiholic. I guess it had to come out someday. The hardest part and first step is to stand in public and admit it, BUT this is about as public as I'm going to get, I don't want my wife to find out!!!....<><.... :)

I have been told that I should get on this wagon that you speak of. I have never seen it, and I hope I never do.

Had another relapse, was at Bimart again, they had a new rifle on the rack, an NEF Sportster in 17Mach2 with the synthetic black stock, 30 minutes later it followed be out the door! Since I didn't have an NEF with the synthetic stock, I figured why not..... :lol: Now I can really do some stock swapping! My dilema is I really want one of the walnut stock sets, what to do..... :?

Nah, that's not so bad, I had .45-70 ammo and all my reloading stuff weeks before I had a .45-70 barrel! BiMart has had the 17M2 ammo for a month now, they finally got 2 sportsters in stock yesterday, they only have one, now! :grin:

You guys are sick.  You realize that don't you, buying ammo that you don't even have a gun to shoot it in.  Now thats really bad.  I only have two new rifles still in the box, not sure if I am going to even shoot them.  :lol:  :lol:  :lol:  :lol:  :D

Tim;

Man, I'm eat up with it. Go to gun shops and look around, nothing seems interesting anymore, except a H&R or NEF rifles, and shotguns. Nothing even catches my eye as far as new releases from Ruger, Rem, Win, or Browning. This addiction has an upside to it, when you buy a Handi, it's alot easier on the wallet. Or....... is that the hiding idea that makes you take it hook, line, and sinker. Things that make you go hmmmmm.

Tisk, tisk... You boys are in sad shape. I on the other hand am in complete control.  I have all the guns that I personally want or need at this time and have no desire to purchase another gun for myself.  8)

However my wife is in desperate need of a nice little 20 gauge Topper Junior Classic for skeet.  And my 5 year old daughter must have a .22 Sportster Youth to learn proper gun safety and gun handling practices with, and maybe a .410 Pardner Youth so she can hunt squirrel with daddy. (Spending quality time with your children is very important you know.) I should probably get my wife a Sportster 17HMR also because she's a lefty and doesn't like the empty shells spit out by my 10/22 zipping past her right eyebrow.   And... Hay, what are you laughing at? :? ...  This isn't funny... No, really.... I'm being serious here.....  Cut it out!  :x  I am not addicted!!! :eek:
