"Re-rifling" & "balancing" a barrel.

Is there anysuch thing as "re-rifling" a barrel?  A friend of mine claims that his barrel was "re-rifled" years back and that accuracy improved considerably.  I think he used the phrase "double spin".  He also claims to have had that very same barrel "balanced".  Is this guy pulling my leg or do these procedures actually exist.

I've heard of sleeving a barrel that's shot-out......but you got me there????

I've had many bbls rebored and rifled to a larger cals., and i've also "lapped" several bbls, perhaps that's what he's refering to???

  Properly rebored bbls shoot as well as, or "better than",  factory bbls., and if for some reason you have a "rough" bbl., lapping it will help smooth it up for better accuracy, and less fouling.  

  Other than these two, i'm not sure what your friend would be refering to??
