Anyone own Savage in, 11G, 11GNS, 10GXP3?

If you own one of these what are your opinion good or bad. I have no brand loyatly just looking for a rifle that will keep a group around a 1"11/2" at 100 yards. I have  Leopold 3x9x40 and rings. I'm thinking about 243, 7mm-08, or 308 in that order.

I don't have the models that you listed, but my Savage 114W is a .243 and can certainly do under 1.5" at 100 yards. Usually my first two shots are about 1/2" and my third shot a bit larger. Probably is just me.
(I have been interested in an 11G in .223 for a while for open-sight target shooting at 200 yards, but I have yet to see that model in person)

Good luck.

I'm looking at the 10GXP3 in 243 or 7mm-08. The scope is coming off and my Leopod 3x9x40 will be going on along with the Millet rings. I need all the eye relief I can get.

I don't own a Savage in those models listed, but my Savage 111 in 30-06 will shoot the same as bilesteve's rifle.  I usually shoot 5 shot groups though and they are always right around 1 to 1 1/2 inches.  A savage may not be the best looking rifle, but they definatly are accurate.  I really like mine and would buy another.

Well Dad, I myself have the LA 110GXP3 in 30-06 while my son has the 11GXP3 in 7-08 though I do impose parental privilege and carry it myself from time to time in the woods because it is a compact and light package.

You may or may not have an eye relief problem on the Short Action model. If you are vertically challenged and short armed to boot like me, eye relief is always a huge problem. On the SA Savages I have not had the problem with eye relief that I do on other models and brands. Also consider the youth model if composite stocks don't turn you off too much or have your local smith cut back the stock a tad. Extension rings/bases can also help and I use these on my LA 110.

It is a rare Savage that won't shoot 1 1/2 or better at 100 yards provided the bloke behind the buttplate does their part. With the new accutrigger, these rifles are superb and have triggers on par with any of my rifles that are more expensive and have a higher degree of "snob appeal".

Safe shooting.

Thanks for the replies I do believe that the scope I have will take care of the eye relief. The youth model is too short for me. I'm 6'3" and have long arms.

Well I went and bought a 11GNS Savage in 308. I mounted my Leupold 3x9x40 with Millet rings and Weaver bases. I then went to the range and after sighting in I'm shooting 11/2" groups. The groups were three shot at 100 yards from a bench and they were my last 3 shot. Needless I'm happy and hope to do better with more practice and I get over my flinching.

Congratulations on the new rig Dad. Keep practicing and I'd not be surprised if the groups close up a bit. Also experiment with different ammo and that may help your grouping tighten up. If not already doing so, always wear hearing protection at the range, in addition to protecting an irreplaceable sense needed for the woods, helps you to concentrate on my sight picture without having the distraction from the next bench or two over when those rifles go off.
