Scout scope mount for model 94 top eject?
« on: October 12, 2004, 04:10:05 PM »
Who makes a scout style scope mount for the model 94 TOP EJECT?  Anyone have a link to one?  There are some nice ones for the AE but not much I can find for the top eject.  Thanks.

Sea Bass,

I have the same gun. XS Sight Systems makes one; but it is listed for Angle eject. I e-mailed them and had a response in under 15 min.! The mount will fit a top eject if the rear sight dovetail is the correct distance from the barrel/reciever hookup. I may buy one and use a Simmons ProHunter pistol scope; 2x.  Give'em an e-mail and talk with them. If your gun will accept it you have to have two holes drilled and tapped.

Thanks Qtip.  That's the one I wanted to use but all the places I found it said it was for the AE.  Must be they had a lot of calls about the top eject because there is a note on their web sight now that says what you just told me.  Thats good news.  Not sure what I would use for a scope.  I was thinking of a fixed 4X or maybe a red dot scope.  I wonder if the
2-7x32mm   NcStar makes is worth looking into? Thanks for the help.

Sea Bass,

I ran into my local gunsmith today and he said the XS system is great. He also said a low power handgun scope works very good too.

The XS system IS made for the AE, but if the rear sight dovetail is about 4" from the receiver, all you need to do is drill and tap two holes in the front ring of the receiver and remove the rear sight.  I'm making my own from a weaver style scope base and a dovetail insert.  Both were ordered from Brownells two days ago.

I'll still have to have the receiver drilled, but my idea will cost about $20 vs. $55.  Of course the drilling and tapping is extra, but would have to be done either way.

I'll mount a red dot scope when complete.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!

I have this system on my 94 top eject and love it,  I wouldn't have another system on my leverguns. Use it with a 2x pistol scope, sight aquisition is extremely fast. it'll be a fine choice.
