As far as I'm concerned you can't beat them for open sites, especially at low light levels, be sure to buy the right size dot and hight profile, if your fiber dot is too big, you will be covering your object at farther ranges, I personally shoot 6O'Clock hold at all times this won't happen for me, using my revolvers I buy the larger size and for rifles the smaller size. Fiber optics work well with bow sites as well, before I had them I could not see my site at dusk, in tern I had to hang it up early, now I can stay right up to the time limit and see my optics clear.
