Just picked one up today. Hope to put some rounds through and site it in soon! Anyone have suggestions for hard hitting loads? I do reload so that won't be a problem.

I've had good luck with Sierra bullets (140 grain pro hunter) over several different charges.  Varget, 4064, and 2520 are good powders to start with.

You won't be disappointed in the 7-08.

My favorite deer load is 44 grs. of Varget with a 140 gr. Nosler Partition. This load is about a grain over max, but shows no pressure signs in my Rem. 700 mtn. rifle. I have tried 120 gr, 130 gr, and 150 gr, but for deer hunting I keep coming back to the 140 gr. bullets. Win. 760 is another good powder, but it is a little more temperature sensitive than Varget.

The load mentioned runs an honest 2900 fps. over the chronograph. That's about all you can get out of a 140 gr. bullet. I have hit 2900 with W760 also.
