I'm going to stick my two cents in on this post since everyone seems to think that Remington is a piece of junk and thats not the case, I'm not saying that you couldn't end up with a bad one from Remington, but you can get a bad rifle from any manufacturer. Case in point, I just purchased a Remington 700 varmit in .223 and I put 16 rounds, not 3, not 5, but 16 rounds in .750 at 100 yards right out of the box.
I also have a Reminton 700 varmit in 308 that will do the same thing and I got that about 7 months ago. The whole problem with this gun comparsion is that most people who like their rifles keep their mouth shut and the people who have had problems can't stop talking about them. I wish we would get off this bashing Remington all the time. The people who have purchased Remington products and like them and don't even bother coming on this web site would fill volumes and volumes and volumes.
I also have Savage varmit in 308 which I love and will outshoot most rifles that includes custom ones and again allot of people on this forum hate them and put the bad mouth on them even through they don't own one, I have Tikka's, Weatherby's and I love them all. Never purchased a bad rifle from any manufacture, guess I'm just lucky.
Well, I guess I vented a little bit, sorry about that.
