Mac11700 and MSP Ret....two GREAT guys!
« on: September 12, 2004, 02:08:53 AM »
Mac is certainly a great and generous guy. He has helped me out with load data and has shared hints and precautions that I would have known nothing about without his help. Being new to handloading this has been a real asset and I have even grown to count on it now. (Hope ya don't mind Mac). After making a simple post about how I'd like to have a 45-70 barrel, I received a PM from him saying he had a set of dies for it that he would just give me. We have talked more since about 30-30 bullets and velocities and he has just sent to me a set of Lee 45-70 dies, a set of Lee .308 dies, numerous assorted 30 cal. bullets from 150 gr. to 190 gr. balistic tips, most of them Noslers, a whole box of .458 bullets ranging from 300gr. hollow points to 350gr. flat points to 405gr. cast performance bullets, Hornady no less, also some new brass for the 45-70, in both the standard and the nickel brass too. All packaged up real nicely and sent UPS at no cost to me at all.
So I just wanted to say publicly, THANK YOU Mac! You certainly did not have to do any of that but once again you have proved what a phenomonal and exceptionally caring, generous, and polite bunch of guys we all are a part of here. I am indebted to you and hope to be able to return your kindness in some way down the line.
While I am at it, I would like to commend MSP Ret for his exceptional generosity and friendship also. After a deal we made on a used .280 barrel he noticed that the shipping cost I covered to send it to him was more than we had figured and went out of his way to find, bid on, win the auction, and have a Lee Classic Loader sent directly to me for my 25-06. He too has shared load data and precautions and has since made me a great deal on some shotgun barrels. He is always looking out for any helpful info on anything we share interest in and is a great email buddy too.
Many others of you have opened up your friendship to me and I appreciate all of you who have. I could go on and on all day about all of you but I feel that these two men deserve special recognition for their acts of kindness towards me. Wanted all of you to know about these two great guys!

:D   Thanks for the kind words lik2hunt, but now I'm so embarrassed you have me blushing!!!. I hope now everyone I deal with here doesn't expect a Lee Loader in the proper caliber to accompany their barrel or project pieces!!! Well OK, I'll do it, but just for deals completed in the next couple of days or so...Perhaps the good fortune which has befallen you is just kind deeds returning home for a visit. If I know you, kind deeds will be outgoing from your location as they often do......"Keep the Faith" brother....<><.... 8)

P.S. Mac, you are really a great guy, got any $20's or $50's laying around you no longer need?....<><....

Awww Shucks.....now you went and did it   I'm glad to be able to help you out...I wasn't using them and I'm glad to see them go where needed..the only thing I ask of you..is when at some point..when your able to...help someone else..as you've been..I feel if everone did this...the world could be a much better place :-) Everyone I've dealt with here..has been very kind to me as well...and that's what makes this Forum the best on the net......

MSP RET..

If I find any that's not being used...I'll send them your way

I guess while we on the subject of giving thanks out...I'll put in a word...for someone while not a member or regular..but does drop in to have a look at what's being said about their product...and his name is Ty...and he's a tech for Barnes Bullets... I called him early last week...and asked him about a paticular bullet for my new Whelen that no-one around here has in stock...it's the 180 grain X bullet in .358 caliber...I asked if they could send any samples and new data( they normally don't send out bullets for samples)... I also asked if they had any plans on making it into one of their Triple Shocks...and explained my feelings on the need...he was in full agreement and plans on making a formal request...also he sent me a small bag of  their regular 180 gr. X bullets to work with at no-cost...and made copies of all their Whelen data for me...what a nice guy......when you read this Ty...ThankYou...I'll be in touch...

OUCH!!! That hurt Marv, We here in the "non-inner city" area of Massachusetts (you can tell who we are, we go to church, work for a living and pay our taxes) are always at awe that those two bozo's keep getting re-elected, or that they were elected in the first place!!

Kerry at least is never here and doesn't bother us with his presence. He has missed over 90% of all combined votes in Washington and our fine Governor here, with the backing of the electorate, has called for Kerry's resignation as Senator but Kerry refuses. I'll bet that doesn't get on the
nationwide liberal oriented news!!!

Of course he would refuse. Why didn't you get the recall petitions circulating last year?
Mitch.
