One Ragged Hole (sight)
« on: September 09, 2004, 02:22:46 PM »
I bought one of their sights (from "One Ragged Hole" in Florida) I put it on my new Winchester 94 taditional. Easy to put on. Just undo two screws, slip the factory sight off, put the new sight on and tighten the two screws back up.  I was a bit worried as my eyes are not the best and I have always had to use a scope cause I can't see the rear sights. What a difference this sight made! I was able to plop my bullets into a 5X5" square regularly offhand.. I now have a lightning fast brush gun again. Gets on the target fast. I'm gonna leave my scoped Marlin at home this year and give this bad boy a try....

Good for you Wrong Way,  I visited their website (oneraggedhole)
a couple of months ago.  that set up looks great.  I am thinking
about putting that sight on my  "51" M94.  I have a williams on
my newer Marlin 336,  works good but looks kinda bulky on
the receiver.  That sight you have looks functional and keeps the
gun looking the way it should.
30-30....45/70...... does anything else matter?

I visited their website www.oneraggedhole.com . They say that it will fit all M94 Winchesters. Anyone see a reason that would not include the M64 as well? Thanks. POW

The rear sight looks kinda funny.  Why the two side holes?  Why is it so wide?

Wrong way
Does this help you get the sight pic quicker with that wide rear?  Just curious how this migh help my 94 Big bore

Does anyone know why the rear is made that way?  Does it help something?

Those are screw holes to attach it to the OEM blade.

OK thanks.  So I take it the OEM sight stays in there and allows you to have the same elevation and windage?  I couldn't tell from the pic if it was adjustable.

My ORH arrived in the mail today. I hope to get home early enough to mount it on my 94 and try it out. I'll report on it ASAP. Can't wait!

Does anyone know whether this sight works with pre-64 m94 winchester buckhorns?

They claim it works on all m94s, but my pre-64 has one screw on the right ear of the buckhorn that screws in from the rear. The (more recent?) m94 shown on their installation page below has two screws holding the buckhorn that screw in from the front of the sight. Doesn't look compatible from these shots but I wonder if anyone has installed one on pre-64 buckhorns to see?

It does not work on the old single screw sight on the the pre 64 Winchester. You can get a newer back sight, but I opted to send it back. I have the Lyman reciever sight on my muzzleloader and like it, so I plan on getting one for my 94. I also saw on Marbles web sight the same type of sight as the one hole, and it is the whole back sight, not just a piece to fit on your own sight. They call it the Upright Peep.
