A Crazy Idea?
« on: August 30, 2004, 04:10:30 AM »
I just had an idea and was wondering if it would be legal in a Silhouette event.....

I want to get 4 barrels, different calibers, that would be optimized for the different distances.
.22 for the chickens, perfectly sighted in at 25 yards.
Then change the barrel to a 32 H&R Mag sighted in for 50 yards.
Then.....
What do you folks think?

In IHMSA you must shoot the course of fire with the gun you have certified before you start. If the gun breaks you may have another gun certified and finish. But the match can not be stopped while you get another gun.

Good quality sights such as Bomars have excellent repeatability where you can adjust your sights to each of the 4 animals and they will be the same from match to match. That would be much cheaper, legal, and more efficient than a 4 barrel setup.
