9.3x62 Mauser?
« on: August 28, 2004, 12:52:27 AM »
Does anybody have any experience with this cartridge or any of the other 9.3s?  I'm thinking of having my 'smith build me a custom bolt gun in a medium bore.  Everything I've read about this cartridge is positive and appears to be more than adequate for hunting anything that walks North America and most everything in Africa.

There are several threads on 9,3s on the Medium Bore Rifle Forum.

Mauser I have a cz lux 550 in 9.3x62 and it is a sweet little gun...shoots in an inch with speer 270 gr bullets infront of 56 gr of AR2208. I use a leupold 2-7 in warne fixed mounts on it.

You can use 30/06 brass necked up but Lapua is better brass and you get a tad more powder capacity. Woodleigh also make a 320 gr soft point and a solid in 320 gr as well which tuns it into a buff thumper. The speers are soft but fine for hoppers and pigs.
