Play in the action?
« on: August 27, 2004, 06:52:06 PM »
My son's youth 243 has a slight bit of play in the action, when it is closed you can feel it move up and down.  It does not have any lateral play.  I can also hold it up to the light and see daylight between the barrel and the receiver.  Should it be like this and would this cause it not to group at all?  Thanks, oktx.

Nope!  Shouldn't at all.  If you bought it new I'd take it back.  If used look at the lug on the barrel.  There should be the last three digits of the receiver s# stamped on it.  This means NEF put the barrel on it.  If it is different someone else did.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!
