Just bought a NEF Handi in 45-70..I'm wanting to load my own ammo and was wondering if anyone has experience with this brass or should I use something else..Also, What is the difference in Nickle and Brass?

I have used Starline and Win. Both worked well for me. Nickel brass is supposed to have less back thrust . How far up is Giles Co. ? I live down near the coast. I was up to Farmville Mon. to drop my son off At Longwood U.

Cost wise...somewhat higher for sure...........I used Remingtons nickle brass exclusively for all of my 45-70 loading...I  buy it factory new from Grafs & Sons... I like the looks of the finished rounds I produce and they are much easier to clean...and they won't tarnish as regular brass cases do,,, I also use the Lyman M die for gently belling the case mouth, and Hornady one shot to lube with... and in using them I never have had any flakeing or case mouth splits,or scratched loading dies...as a lot of folks have had with them. One thing to remember...they are stiffer than regular brass...and the case capacity is slightly less at least for the Remingtons, and the Starline I have,so if your loading up to the max...watch for pressure signs very closely...otherwise...they are fine...

I use almost nothing but Starline for both my 45-70 and 45-90 rifles.  I have no complaints.

As good as the best and better than the rest..Starline produces brass when needed for many well known manufacturers, mostly pistol and straight case rifle...SB
