Gun to leave in Canada

Ladies and Gentleman, I am considering putting together a treestand gun for Saskatchewan.  You can leave it with your guide with the proper paperwork so.....  I thought because almost all shooting is under 150yds I would get a 7mm-08 or a 308.  I like the 7mm-8 for the tame recoil and I like the 308 for premium bullet selection( 150gr. TSX Barnes).  So I would appreciate any and all comments including gun models.

It looks to like you are looking for a model seven in either 308 or7mm-08
They are light easy to handle and very accurate. If it were me i would probobly go with the 7MM-08. No special reason. Thats Just My Opinion.

Buck Fever,

I must say that I really lie my t-3 Lite stainless 7mm-08. It is a pleasure to shoot and really does a number on deer size game. I feel it is a great value for the money and is sub MOA with Hornady 139's.

There is a huge selection of premium bullets available for the .284/7mm...including Barnes TSX(140gr. & 160gr.)

Out of the two choices you are considering I would go with a 7mm08. As far as rifles, I would just get one you are comfortable with. A Remington Model 7 or Ruger M77 Compact would be my choices for a "smaller" rifle.

Bubba Jack ran across a great deal on this gun and thought you know he is right I really like my T3 this is the gun for Canada.  Think I will use a TSX 150gr.  Barnes.  Bought the gun for $430.   Buckfever
