I have a Winchester sx2 that I bought this summer I've went out and shot it and it's a nice gun, I got it for waterfowl hunting, but know I'm thinking about trading it off for a few nef/h&r's. I bought it for $700 used in shadowgrass so I should be able to get $600 out of it on trade in. I want a handi in 22lr, an ultra in 270,22-250,and a slug gun in 12 or 20, a 10ga. for geese and turkeys and a muzzle loader. Any ways my quistion is should just get a rifle sb2 and send off for barrels or should I get 1 rifle and then only send off for rifle barrels, 1 shotgun for the shotgun barrels, and 1 muzzle loader or rim fire in 22lr. I like the idea of having a bunch of cheaper guns in differnt calibures instead of having 1 that cost to darn much that I can only use for a couple of things. Some times I like too just go out shooting paper or hunting deer, coyote,turkey, waterfowl or just shooting that crow out there at 600 yards lol.

In order to get everything you mentioned you would need a minimum of 3 complete H&R/NEF firearms. You would need a rimfire for the 22lr (you can't put rimfire barrels on centerfire action), an SB2 receiver for centerfire rifle barrels, ML barrel, and 20 or 12 ga (except 12 ultra slug), and a 10 ga for a 10 ga barrel or 12 ga ultra slug

I'd go with multi guns. Easier to customize one and leave the others alone that way.

I think you should keep the winchester and buy all the NEF's individually. At these prices, I cant see sending the gun in for extra barrel, as its not much more to get the whole gun (with shipping and barrel fit fee, etc.), plus the down time during turnaround.

You might also consider one of the combos in 12ga/50cal for your muzzleloading and slug gun needs, however, the tracker barrel cannot be drilled and tapped for scope if you must have one. You need the Ultra Slug ifyou want to scope your slug gun.

I don't think you'll have much luck getting anyone who has that many NEFs to trade up for just one gun though.

I'm going to keep the x2 went to gun shop today he didn't want the x2 for any tradeins he said he had to many he can't get rid of them. He said he was going to mark down the new ones from $960 to $700 I told him that I should have waited to get mine I payed that apeice for two used sx2's 4 months ago. either I got srewed or he's lossing big money on them. I had a bps 10 last couple years maybe I should have kepped it or got a auto 10 instead of the sx2. The only reson I got red of it was because its hard to pump while laying down, so I'll try this x2 this year might go to a browning gold or sp-10 next year.

MSP RET. , Do you remember the Win. Super X shotgun ? The S X 2 is a Win. Super X 2 , Win.'s version of Browning Gold. I think both are 3 1/2 " Mag. semi- auto shotguns.

You got a great semi-auto to use for your shotgunning needs...and yes the prices have come down on them lately..... but they have always been on the expensive side...but... IMHO...most good hunting shotguns are really over-priced.They may be less now then when you bought yours and you might of payed more than you think you should...but if you are happy with the the way it patterns and shoots...(you have patterned it haven't you?)..you'll wind up keeping it... if you want to see some upset folks because of the price drops...check out a few other trap and skeet and Sporting clays forums...you'll see the prices have fallen on their O/U's in some places as much as $500.00....so don't feel so bad....it doesn't mean they aren't anygood,or there is something wrong with them,because there isn't...only that they aren't selling as many as they thought they would...people aren't buying them,and they produced way more than they are selling......I've talked to a few Reps and they have strong compitition in the field from just about every manufacture here and overseas...sooo...my advice ia the same as a few other guys here...keep it...shoot it...enjoy it...and picked up a Handi or 2 when you can...ohh one last thing...as far as the 10 gauge goes...compare a 3" load of Heavy Shot to a regular 10 ga. load of steel and you'll find you really don't need it anyway...that's one of the reasons most of the duck and goose hunters I know that hunt in the Southern Illinois use the 12ga. now...and quite a few of the dedicated duck hunters I hang with have even switched over to the 20ga...Heavy shot makes it possible.

PS...add to your SX-2 a fully rifled slug barrel with a cantalevor scope rail and a long eyerelief scope...and them old bucks around your area are in big trouble...and your shoulder will thank you...
