God made man in his own image. He knows and feels our hurts etc. He knows our thoughts and intents and judges us by them.
Jesus told us when we pray, Don't use vain repetitions as the heathen do. that can be interpreted two ways. Saying the same prayer all the time, which isn't near as bad as making up an eloquent one to say in public, for men to hear, not God.
The point I'm trying to make is that our prayer when busy and all the time should be communion with God just like one would with any very close human friend. Think EXACTLY what you are thinking TO GOD! If you have a problem, in your work, family, health, everything and anything, ask God for answers, wisdom, and solutions. Know that your thought is heard as well as your spoken voice. No matter where, in traffic, deep in the belly of a thick walled prison, at work with noise so loud you can't hear anyone.
Don't be concerned about whether you have faith or enough of it. If you have never heard from God nor know of an answered prayer, nor been taught that a true living Creator God actually exists, you cannot have faith. In this case your most honest prayer is to ask Him to make himself known to you, that you want to believe in and serve Him. You WILL get an answer! Understand that the answer will probably be spirit, and that God has unlimited ways of answering. Also that when He answers you will be DEAD SURE it was God. If Jesus answers you will know it was Him. If the Holy Spirit answers it will probably be a silent inner knowing and you'll know it to be divino and from God, but not God or Jesus. If in doubt, the Bible tells us to ask for verification.
There is one danger in sprirtual communion and that is that we can hear from Satan if we are serving him, by doing what we know is wrong. Satan is bared from speaking and answer we ask of God when we ask Him with a pure heart. Not perfect or sinless. All have sinned. Pure in heart means admitting our sins to God, and asking for His help in stopping them, which is exactly opposite of serving satan.
Christians are to get their wisdom from the Bible, but I like many others found it very dry reading until I was nearly 60 years old. This after being raised by a devout mother and having a devout wife for 35 years! The solution is to know that the Bible is the living word of God, but that it is quickened by God. Ask Him to open your understanding and make his word live and real to you. I believe this has worked for every person who I've reccomended it to!
Some may argue that Satan can talk to us, because he did when he tempted Jesus. -- The answer to that is. Jesus knew it wa satan. Also Jesus said, "My sheep know my voice." To be His sheep we simply follow Him, the Good Shepard to the best of our ability and ask for his help where our ability falls short. You WILL know who's voice you hear every bit as well as you know a humans voice.
May God bless you. I am praying for you and all who read this.
