Can anybody give me an update on the Iowa corn crop? How is it looking? Do you think we will have a decent year for Pheasants?

Thanks,
Fred

I live in north-central Iowa near Mason City and the corn crop will be amazing!  It's ten feet tall, literally, 12" ears with 18 rows going around on some of them.  The beans look great, I'm a tiling/excavator and I've been in some bean fields that brush my arm pits and I'm 6'2".  I would like to point out that as a South Dakota native for the first 22 years of my life that the corn crop in Iowa has little to do with the pheasant crop in Iowa.  The wetland restoration work that we do is helping a lot, I'd say if you want pheasants, head for Franklin or Wright county, our bird numbers are almost as good as those I'm used to seeing in the heart of SD pheasant country, with lots of public access.  If you need info, contact me.
