2ooth Anniversary Remington 700?
« on: August 08, 2004, 09:14:13 AM »
I just bought a Remington 700, 30-06 that has a BDL type stock in a very light colored wood (maple, birch ?) and is engraved on the mag floor plate (hinged type):
Eliphulet Remington
1793 - 1993
200th Anniversary
There is a picture of Remington engraved on the floor plate.  Other than the blond colored wood and the engraving, it looks like a standard BDL.  I would like to hear from anyone with knowledge of this model.  It is in new condition.

Remington Introduced the 700 in 1962, the same year they introduced the 7mm Remington Magnum...Eliphulet Remington II(born in 1793?)  handmade his first flintlock in 1816 and placed 2nd in a rifle shoot which drew the attention of watchers and therfore started the long history of "America's Oldest Gunmaker" other than that all I know is the rifle you have is a limited run and worth owning(I have seen one before), wish I could help more...maybe write Remington a email at www.remington.com they should be more than happy to help you...
