Catch-and-release BS
« on: August 01, 2004, 01:55:47 PM »
Let me start out by saying that I no longer fish.  However, I do take my grandson fishing.  Also, I don't hunt for anything I don't intend to eat, and I don't fish for anything I don't intend to eat.
Today, for the second time at the landing, some "sport" fishermen came down to release 20-40 lb. catfish that they had been hauling around all day in a live-well, after trucking them to the official weigh station.  Those fish were DEAD!  I said, "You can release them into the back of my truck".  "Oh, no, they said, we only fish for sport".  So, fish that would have fed my family for a week were dumped into the river in the name of  political correctness!
   Am I missing something here?
