Lonestar, Bounty Hunter metal detector

Folks,

I have a Lonestar, Bounty Hunter mental detector and wondering if it's any good.  Haven't tried it yet and may return it.

Read it'll only detect metals up to 8 inches down.  Seems to me this will not allow it to detect most buried treasures which would probably be deeper than this.

Any of you used this brand/model?
