Toyed with Field Pistol/Hunter Pistol as a full discipline
« on: July 23, 2004, 01:59:58 PM »
It is FUN.  With a short gun the challange is there, not quite as much as big bore but close.  Targets weigh 1/4 as much which is nice for a smaller group of folks to deal with.  Sticking with .30 or larger and straight walled pistol cartridges it is good as rifle and pistol and a great way to introduce folks to freestyle shooting as well as the standard Standing entries.  A .38 or lightly loaded .357/.41/.44 or any of the .45's .40's or 9mm has plenty of knock down power too.

6 1/2 inch revolvers shine as well.
