What exactly don't you like about the Optilock mounts? I'm curious because I've used them on two Sakos and like them. They're very solid and they're easy to work with. I will admit they have two drawbacks. They tend to be too high (not talking about how much they cost) and the ring screws are somewhat soft. However, I really like the inserts. With these you don't have to worry about ring alignment problems or marring your scope. I've got Optilocks on my .300 Weatherby Sako and they've been just fine.
As much as I like the Optilocks, I now have a set of Conetrols on my 7mm Mag Sako. I wanted to see if I could lower my scope and the Conetrols do allow for a lower scope mount. The Conetrols are very nice looking also, but they are a real pain to work with. They seem to be just as stout as the Optilocks.
