I'm looking into getting a bipod for a new rifle. Ill probably end up getting a Harris bipod, but im having trouble deciding the model. The pivoting models are more expensive, but teir capabilities are extremely useful. Also, what height should i purchase? I need something thats i could use both for sitting and prone. 11-25" in seems like a good idea. What do yall think?

Not sure about the hight you need as I only use them off a bench or lying on the ground but I would definitely go with the swivel model. They are really a nice feature and worth the extra 10 bucks or so. KN

If you are looking at the Harris bi-pods, also look at Outers...from what I have seen, they are pretty much the same at a fraction of the cost.

Caldwell also makes a good bipod. What I like about their's, is the have eliminated the springs, making them somewhat quieter. When given a choice, I shoot prone. If I need to shoot from a sitting posistion. I carry a set of X-sticks, which are inexpensive to make.

I have a couple of Harris Bi-pods and als a "pole cat" telescoping bipod you carry. Got to where I use the "polecat" more cause it is not attached to the gun.
