Hay, I put a $300.00 (used 6X18 Shepherd) scope on my $160.00 30-06 Handi.  This cheap gun deserves a good set of optics.  This gives me the capability of hitting wolves at 400 to 600 yards.  My partners all stop shooting at 300 yards.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Ive heard some good things about that Shepherd scope! How do ya like yours....ok never mind...you said it keeps on giving on out to 600 yds!   I guess I can see the money in a scope but not in a little piece of metal with a tiny lil  hole in it...

I'll take a $200 gun and a $300 scope over a $450 gun and a $50 scope any day.

Sourdough, don't feel bad.  My $295.00 Ultra is wearing a $700.00 Springfield Armory scope.

The way I see it......An accurate gun deserves the best optics.

 I guess you like your rifle more than I like mine...I don't hang a scope on mine that cost more than the rifle... I'd rather use that 700 bucks  to buy 2  more rifles and 2 more scopes.... To each his own....

you could say that optics make the gun. nice 50mm lenses that gather lots of light, that's schweet !

for my handi's, i like those simmons pro-hunter scopes, for the $ they aren't too bad.
