Finally received my tikka t3 in 7mm-08 s/s from a dealer on gunbroker and let me tell you everything about this rifle i like just hope it shoots as good. i have a question about the rings it came with are they any good because i am considering either the leupold vxiii 3.5 x10 40mm scope or the zeiss conquest in 3.5 x 10 44 mm. if i go with the zeiss i need different set of rings if i choose the leupold i can use the t3 rings. thankx

First off, congrats on the new gun.  I get members PMing me all the time telling me that they took my recommendation and bought a Tikka, and they all love it.  (and no, I don't get any kick backs from Tikka  :) )

Also, congrats on the cartridge.  The 7mm-08 is one of my favorite cartridges, and I think that it is the IDEAL cartridge for whitetails out to 200 yards.

As for the rings, I really don't know.  I would imagine that the Leupold with 40mm objective would work great.  If you can, take your gun to a local dealer and place any 40mm scope on top of the rings.  If there is plenty of clearance, then you can determine whether the rings are high enough for a 44mm objective.  Other than that, you could always call Beretta.

I have the Conquest 3.5 x 10 x 44 with medium rings on one of my Sako rifles and it has plenty of clearance.  But of course it is not a Tikka and I don't know if you can relate one to the other.  It might make a difference on how far forward or back you mount the scope also.  Like Zachary said the best way to know for sure is to take it to a gunshop and ck it out before you buy.
