Tikka T3 Lite in 243 - any comments?
« on: July 08, 2004, 02:20:54 PM »
I'm thinking about picking one of them up.

Cabela's (locally) is holding the last one they have in stock for me for the next 5 days.

It's intended use is for Coyote hunting, where I walk a bit, but most shots are pretty close, some out to 250...  most at around 30 to 70 yards.

hmm.... Anyone own one of these who can make some recommendations?

Thanks,
Spot

I have the WH version in .243 and I absolutely love it.  The only drawback to the new T3 in .243 is that it's a true long action used to accomodate the short action .243.

Other than that, the accuracy and quality is just outstanding!

I would agree with Zachary.  I also have a Tikka 243 in the Whitetail Hunter and really like the rifle.  I cannot speak to the T3.

I don't have one myself, but a friend just bought a T3 in 300WSM and I'm loading for it.

I really like this rifle.  It's very light so it would make a pretty good walk around rifle, plus it's pretty darn accurate.  The adjustable trigger works exactly like they advertise.  It's pretty easy to use, and it's adjustable down to 2 lbs.  Very crisp, no creep or overtravel.

I think you'll like it.

One thing to watch out for though.  There's a plastic shroud on the rear of the bolt.  If you get any kind of solvent on this, it will mark it.

I've got a 243 ss lite T-3 and it is THE best calling rifle I have ever owned.  It is a great shooter, lite, comes up nice and a good looking rifle to boot!! You don't have to do anything to it ,just  take it out and shoot it. ( it has a great trigger and easy to adjust if you want) Get it , You won't regret it.

Guy's,

Looks like Doghunter ain't the only one with a T3 Lite in 243.

Today was my birthday and my wife bought it for me....

It is a long action, but it's a sweet rifle...

This just might extend the distance I want to hunt yotes' seein I was hauling a 10 lb Remy 308 before.

 Spot Shooter,

Let me wish you a very happy birthday . . . although looks like you have been having a good one already!  Let me also compliment your wife on her excellent taste in birthday gifts. :)

Congrats Spot Shooter, both on your B-day and the gun!

Let us know how it shoots for you.

I'm sure that you will love the way the action cycles - it's Sweeeeeeeet!
