RBH Front Sight Replacement

One of you gunsmiths help me with this.  I have finally obtained a new higher front sight from Ruger.  Now, how do I replace the original?  It appears it is sweated on with silver solder.

Do I need a oxy/ace torch to remove and replace this or will a propane torch do it?  Any precautions?

There is a hole in the base that I assume to be a guide for attaching this.  Am I correct?

I really can't say I've ever replaced one but the parts blow up seems to imply this part is sweated on...Soldered probably using a soft solder..  Silver would most likely not be needed.

Are you just talking about the front blade? On my Ruger Bisley with adjustable sights, the front blade is just attached with a roll pin. Knock it out and insert new sight and roll pin.

He is talking about the front sight ramp on his Ruger Blackhawk.

The sight base and ramp blade are a one-piece casting.
