Bumper hunting
« on: June 19, 2004, 08:58:05 AM »
Got a nice doe this morning, I was driving down the main drag, when I see a cop, across from the local doghnut shop, standing over a dead deer.
One U turn later, I had myself a deer!
Skinned, and at the butcher. Nice shape too, looks like it got hit in the head.
Right downtown beside the farmers market.

John I got my spike buck 3 weeks ago. Comming home from the grand kids graduation. Little spike jumped into my right head light and grill on my 79 gmc p/u. This was at dark thirty at night. Got pulled over and walked back but no need for a finnishing shot, busted it almost in half. Dint do the p/u a lot of good either.

Have any of you tried those deals that  you put on your bumper and they are supposed to make a sound that will "repell" deer when you are driving down the road.  I wonder if you put them on backwards if they would call deer to you? :)

Beings its tourist season again in the sierras, and a lot of the Gay area (Sfran), and tree huggers are running around here, I might just be able to make some money, sell those deer warning things(that dont work worth a dam), as deer calls.  I may have to look into this further.

Dad used to work the Canadian Border downstate, he'd bring home a deer somebody hit on the Interstate every so often that the wardens and state police let him have...
Down with Maine Citizens for Fair Bear hunting!
