Savage Model 333 over/under Value???
« on: June 14, 2004, 01:42:16 AM »
I have a chance to pick up a nice Savage Model 333 over/under 12 ga.  This gun is in absolutely like new perfect condition inside and out.  It has single trigger, solid matt rib and is beautiful.  It has fancy engraving and beautiful wood.  It looks like an expensive gun and has been fired very little.  I noticed something on the receiver about "Finland".  Maybe it was made in Finland.

What is this gun worth?

BTW, anyone know of a website where used gun values can be looked up?

Thanks, Dave

Dave, you are correct, the 333 was made by Valmet, in Helsinki, Finland,  my books say from 1973-1979. These were high quality guns for the price from what I have seen, good European walnut stocks and good metal finish. If you can get a good deal on it grab it.

I can get the gun for $300 but would be buying it strickly for resale.  If I could turn it over for $400 or so I would do it.  I called a local gun shop and they said their book used value was $650 @ 100%, $550-$600 @ 98%, and around $500 @ 95%.  I would say this gun is 98% maybe better.

It seems it would be worth the higher range but finding someone that would pay that much may be a problem for me.
