mercury recoil insert

Where can I get one? I would like to try one. Where do I install it? What's a good company to get it from? I went to the range today with my 300win. My shoulder muscles have weakened from my ms. I don't like brakes on rifles. I think they look stupid. Getting a smaller caliber is out of the question. Your opinion would be helpful.

ms,
I hear and feel for you!  I have RA myself and it sure doesn't help the shoulders.  The mercury recoil cartridge is usually fitted in the rear stock by drilling out the mountingbolt hole somewhat.  Perhaps if you do an on-line search for the manufacturer you can ask them what's involved in your installation.  I bought a Past Decelerator Pad from Cabela's that is quite inexpensive for range use and they come in standard as well as magnum padding styles.  Before you have to spend allot on modifications on the rifle, try the Past system or a good slip-on recoil pad.

ms,

Go to BrownellÂ’s at, http://www.brownells.com/Default.aspx on their products page and entering #163-100-004 for C&H Research's(the best in my opinion) products.  Either that or go to C&H Research's own site at http://www.mercuryrecoil.com/ and buy from them.  I use C&H Mercury recoil inserts in all of my big bores from .340 Weatherby and up.  You will get full instructions on installing them with any you buy.  If not drop me a PM and I will pass them along to you.  Small groups and tight lines to you.  Lawdog
