Interesting Observation - Barrel Length

Like PappaJohn428 I'm a revolver guy. I had my quarterly recertification last week and much to my surprise I shot better with my 2" backup/off duty gun than my 4" primary duty gun! I thought I was hot stuff until the Range Master told me I cheated; to which I replied he was full of "MALE BOVINE FECAL MATTER". He said; "No; you cheated, the sights were 2 inches closer to your eyes". God Da*&&^%$d Smart A$$!!! :bye:

Shot 60 shots; 300 is max points, need 210 to pass. Shot 277 (92%)with my duty gun; 289 (96%) with the snubby! The Range Master told me I don't cheat fair!  IMAGINE THE NERVE!

(I KNOW how to cheat fair!) [I Think???]

dawei,

when someone smarts off to me like that at the range, i always offer them to shoot a round with it and see if they can do better...  i've never got anyone to take me up on that offer   :)

good shooting with that snubbie!

Thanks for your kind words. :D To tell the truth the backup Airweight®  is my favorite handgun. For every round I shoot in my primary I shoot 2-3 in the little snubnose. I got it before S&W® kissed Klinton's butt & it has NO BUILT IN LOCK (Thank God!). ttyl...........

Dawei, I admire your skill with that two-inch, it's odd how that stuff works.  Does an inch or two of barrel length really make a difference?  It sure does with me!  It's been a while since I shot a two-inch, but I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from inside it.    Add an inch of barrel, and all of a sudden I'm Dead-Eye Dick.  (Keep your snide comments to yourself please!)    I used to shoot Police Combat with a four-inch, and did well, but once it came to shooting snubbies, I wasn't even in contention.  Maybe it's all in my head, I don't know.

I picked up a little Bersa 380 for my honey yesterday, and it shot well, but I'm more excited about the gun I have on layaway.  A S&W 65-5 3",  it'll be my new best friend, and my better half has already named it, "Mistress", because of the way I lust after it!   :)

I told her I was gonna send the gun off to have it, "Dehorned", she says I need the same treatment myself!

If you can shoot home invaders, why can't you shoot Homeland Invaders?

:cb2: Saw Bob Whatshisname on TNN one time shooting balloons at 200 yards with his 2" .38 snubbie.

Shoooooot. I can do that!   (With a scoped rifle!)  :-D
