Not sure if the Rugers in that chambering have even hit the shelves yet??

The Ruger would seem to be better than the Remington offering---first-because its not a Remington-----but mainly that its a full sized rifle with the proper barrel length for the little magnum cartridge. The 673 is just too weird.

Remington(and others) are missing the boat by not putting this cartridge in their regular rifle lines.

It should do fine on deer with the right loading and good shot placement. Which brings up another complaint---last time I checked----there was only one factory load offered in one bullet weight---so you are looking at pretty much handloading only for the .350.

Omaha,

I concur.  The Ruger offering is  better option for the .350 RM.

dave hall,

Why not post this question down in the Medium Bore forum?

Omaha,
I also concur that the 350RM is short changed in the majority of short barreled rifles it's offered in. My other point of disagreement is with Remington's use of 1:16" barrels in the 35 Whelen and I presume 350RM.
Cheers...

I have the Rem.673 in the 350 rem mag and it is one of the most accurate rifles I have. I haven't used it on deer yet but I've heard they are pretty devastating on them, let's put it this way, they don't move when there hit.

I am looking at purchasing a Remington 673 350 Rem. but would prefer it in S/S and with out that rib on the barrel. I've heard that the rib is only held on with screws. Does anyone know if the rib can be removed easily?

Camp cook :  I believe the one I looked atr had the rib held on with screrws, a quick note to Remington should have a for sure answer. :D   JIM
