Just picked up 7RM in new CDL and was pleasantly surprised on the quality of the wood. Nicely grained and fit was pretty darn good. (Maybe it is due to first out on market). Bushnell Elite 3200 4x12 Rain Guard. Problem - I am in process of moving and building house so I won't be able to shoot it until late summer at earliest. How's that for patience?  :cry: I will probably have to buy factory stuff to even shoot since all my reloading is boxed up. Guess it is time to push the builder along. When the house is done though, I will also have 100 yd range so the wait will be worth it.  :lol: I almost bought an 06 as well but couldn't slip that one past the war department.

Dear, Dear, Dear Muddyboots.... I ordered a Tikka T3 Stainless in .300WSM.  I have been so busy, with traveling around the world and the US, that I just haven't had a chance to pick it up from the FFL guy.

Wanna know how long that gun has been sitting at my FFL's place?  About 3 months! :oops:   How's that for patience! :)

Yea, I don't know if it's patience, or just foolhardiness. :)   I guess that I just gotta bet my priorities back on track! :-D

Y'all are right but I can't figure how to get it done. I am moving into an apartment for 6 months since we just sold our house. Don't want to keep all the good toys in the apartment for all the right reasons. So most is going into lock storage. I travel a lot like Zachary so it is really tough to get range time when house construction, fishing on Lake Michigan and once in a while act like the pants of the house with wifey. I am really looking forward to move in day so I can break out the new ones and try new range in back yard. I have two new rifles in safe and never fired. I have never gone more than a week or so with a new rifle before turning loose on range so this is a whole new experience that just flat out sucks. good news is the foundation is in and framing will start next week. Rock and roll! I have hoping for Oct 1st so keep fingers etc. crossed for me. I will be on serious withdrawal by then.

Just keep an eye on those builders.    Some of them act like cutting a corner to save $5 is worth big money.    They cut corners like taking a breath -- and then we get stuck with the problems.

Even more patience; I have a 700 CDL in 35 Whelen coming from Grice. Expected delivery date? August or September. It's gonna be a long summer!

Let me know how the Whelan works out. I have always wanted one and believe it is one of the best calibers around for up close and personal hunting. The CDL that I just got really had nice wood grain so it looks nice and classy. Hopefully, you will get same quality.

I too have this unexplainable fondness for the .35 Whelen.  Never owned one, never shot one, heck, I never even held one.  But for whatever reason, I've always really wanted one.  Granted, I'm generally a stainless/synthetic kinda guy, but given that it's so hard to find a new rifle chambered in the Whelen (and keeping in mind that, despite what most people may think, I do in fact like remingtons) I just might get one in the CDL too.  It may be a couple of years before I'll shoot it, but there's something that just makes me feel good knowing that it's there - in my house, in a very special place where I keep all of my fond toys - rifles, pistols, shotguns, fishing poles, and the like.  

I know that some of you may think I'm crazy, but I'm sure that there are just as many of you that perfectly understand what I'm talking about. :wink:
