Just ordered a Sportster and have a ? about the scope mount

If one of you would be so kind as to let me know how long the scope mount is I would greatly appreciate your help. I would like to mount a scope as low on the rifle as possible. I am thinking about putting a Leupold extended eye relief M8 scope on it if I can fit it in front of the hammer.

the total lenght of the mount is 5inchs
the widest spread in slots (weaver style) is right at 4inchs
the slots are set at on 1inch centers with forward most slot centered 1/2inch from the end.
5 slots total.
these measurements may not be exact but should give you some idea.
you should be able to mount forward the hammer with enough eye relief.
