I got my Bandito Holster in today.

Has anyone that owns one used any kind of leather conditioner on theirs to soften the leather up a little? I've used Linseed Oil on my comp slings before to soften them before, but I don't want to put something on this expensive holster rig that might mess it up.

Any suggestions?

I left mine as is .............. It has a bit of a leather smell and I didn't want an oil smell on it when deer hunting .

I have done leather work for many years. I would use neatsfoot oil if I were you. Any oil will soften it up, but maybe permanenetly. Be careful not to over do it. You don't want to end up with a limp floppy holster. I would try a few applications of saddle soap first and wear it a few times. If it is still too stiff, use the oil, but use it sparingly and allow several days for each coat of oil to sink in before you decide to apply more. You don't want to ruin a fine product. Usually if the leather is stiff, it means it was made from the best part of the hide. I am impressed with the Bandito, but I will probably make my own.

I'll second RollTide's recommendation for the neatsfoot oil. You may want to use just enough to get the squeak out of it. Also, neatsfoot oil won't be as smelly as lindseed oil.

how long was the wait to get your bandeto, an did you get the one were u can change the flap for the scope or a custom?

Is the Bandito holster lined?

It's not lined, but the inside of it is pretty soft. It's pretty quiet to draw.

From the time I mailed off my order (I don't like to order with credit cards over the internet :-) ), to the time I got it in the mail was a little less than two weeks.
