To Crimp or Not To Crimp, that is the question
« on: November 24, 2002, 07:23:58 AM »
Got a 357 Max and need to know if folks are crimping the bullets or not.  I am shooting 125 JHP and some 158 FPHP.

Been using H110 with only average results.  Thinking of trying some W296 or ?

Thanks...
Don

I would crimp and try some W-296 or H4227 or IMR4227.
www.handgunhunt.com       Has some info on the max under the tec section.

If you use Win 296 it needs to be crimped for good ignition, see the Win Reloading manual.  You pretty much have to put at least a small crimp on any straight wall case since you expand the case mouth before inserting the bullet.  I put a good crimp on all my straightwall cases, but that is just me.
